Urban America Outdoors Youth Club
Kansas City, Missouri, Oct. 31, 2006 –Urban America Outdoors Youth Club Growing up in the outdoors and sports arena, whether it’s playing basketball, swimming, track & field ,hunting or fishing, it all involved mentors, parents or teachers being a support mechanism in order to fulfill these goals. Today, more than ever, these kids need our help, support and guidance in their life to help them reach adulthood and become successful in whatever they chose.
There was a time when we had lots of neighborhood and community support, but sadly things have change. We all use to look out for one another, but now many of our family neighborhoods have all but disappeared and been replaced with some negative images we don’t want our kids see. This makes parents have to work harder to provide alternatives to balance off what their children may get exposed to. Many times this takes extra money, which is just not there these days, but there are some programs that are available for the kids that are free of charge. All you have to do is look for them.
We have received several emails and some phone calls about what we have available at Urban American Outdoors for children. We have UAO Kids developed from our Urban American Outdoors Youth Program which teaches children about their world around them and urban conservation form an urban perspective. Some of the programs we have included will be urban fishing derby’s, bicycling, outdoor entrepreneurship, entertainment and a lot of other outdoor fun activities.
To be a member of the club is free and all kids are invited to join. We will have something for all age groups. Soon we will have more info and membership forms available on our website and at designated businesses in the community, for our UAO Kids. These children are very important for the future of our community and we are happy to be able to work with our youth in the city. There have been many events and outdoor functions we have participated in or created involving kids. Our focus is to have more children from the city to be able to enjoy some of these positive, self esteem building outdoor activities. If you are interested in getting info about UAO Kids you can call us at 913-334-5177 or emails us at uaotv@hotmail.com
